About me

My name is Hope N. I participated in a photography program through After School Matters. In this program I learned about how to take pictures that convey feeling and emotion as well as how to incorporate compositional design elements in photos to make them more visually  interesting. I also explored my identity as an artist and developed an artist statement.

My goal is to create unique and meaningful pieces that are not only visually appealing, but also make my audience think. I do this by developing specific ideas about topics that interest and inspire me and use my photography to bring them to life in a visual way. I want my audience mostly to experience feelings of calmness and lightness while also leaving them with new questions and ideas. I try to center my photos around specific subjects by only putting what is necessary into the frame and by using different compositional techniques to further develop my theme.
